Steam Box is coming?Valve' Co-founder Gabe Newell said late last year that the rumored Steam Box living room-based PC-in-a-console would be available some time in 2013. Speaking to the BBC at the BAFTA awards, Newell said that Valve would be "giving out some prototypes to customers to gauge their reactions, I guess, in the next three to four months."

We're taking it back to our roots! There are things to love and things to hate about this game. If you want to advance you should get nades and other toys fast, as you kill and capture points. I have played for an hour, but it was enough for me to know I will love, as well as hate this game. Love it when I have fellow LMC players on my team and hate it otherwise. It is actually really fun to play but there is no saw or m-60 for g3n, so g3n is sad about that.

Author: WaakowHawken is what? Hawken is Mechs. But not them slow mechs from the Mech Warrior days of yore. No sir, these are the mechs of a neo tokyo dystopia . Think ghost in the shell and you get a good idea of the games aesthetic. This game runs on the Unreal 3 engine and it doesn't push the limits for graphic quality, but that isn't to say the game looks bad. On the contrary, this game has some great art design. The artistic polish will more than make up for any hankerings for “next gen” graphics. Hawken is Free. Free, as in FTP (Free to play). “But, is it Pay to Win?”, you may ask. Well, as far as I can tell it doesn't seem to be. There have been rare instances where I have encountered a level 1 player crushing everyone, even the capped level 25 mechs. “So how do they make money?”, you may wonder. There are some items that require real moneyz to buy and not the in-game credit you earn from playing. But these purchases are limited to your mechs looks. You can change it’s color, add textures, switch out mech bodies, etc. But if you are patient and don’t feel the need to play dress up with your mech then you can play competitively without paying a dime. Hawken is Fast. Get ready for a ride. The gameplay is fast. You have rocket boosters you can use to fly, boost forward, strafe/dodge, and when you get the hang of it the whole thing becomes a ballet of explosions and metal. A well choreographed display of team positioning and all out war. Hawken is fun. Yes it IS fun, and it’s free. Go play it. Have fun.

Author: omniconsumerFTL: Faster Than Light is a space role-playing game with roguelike elements made by developer, Subset Games. In FTL, the player controls a spacecraft and crew that intercepts a data packet from a rebel fleet. The player's goal is to reach a Federation fleet, which is waiting a long distance away, without being destroyed or caught by the rebel fleet in pursuit. This game is simply addictive. It is simple enough so as not to be annoying, but intriguing and fun enough that you want to keep playing it. You run through sectors which are comprised of a number of simple star systems. Each one provides the player with different scenarios and chances to level up your ship and weapons... (continued)

Author: omniconsumerDeveloped on the open source FreeSpace 2 Engine, Diaspora: Shattered Armistice is a free standalone mod that's true to the general plot setup of the most recent Battlestar Galactica series. When a Cylon attack destroys much of the Colonial fleet in a massive galactic invasion, you find yourself aboard the Battlestar Theseus, one of the last starships still in operation and with Cylon forces in pursuit. Spooling up the FTL drive to speed constantly out of danger at the last possible second reflects the same intense feelings of the show, even if you're not actually aboard the Battlestar Galactica itself. This game is not forgiving. Though not as complicated as some other space battle sims, you would still need to play the tutorial to even have half a chance at surviving any mission. There's a lot to remember, and most of it gets thrown out in the heat of battle in favor of focusing on core flight functions that get the mission completed successfully. Don't be surprised to find yourself playing missions over and over again. If it's a challenge you want, this game will bring it to you hard. For a free game that was made by a group of fan modders, Shattered Armistice is a great game. It's a thoughtfully developed space shooter simulation that captures the cinematic look and feel of the Battlestar Galactica series. This installment isn't lacking in action or single player gameplay, but a nonexistent multiplayer community and a short, brutal campaign may limit the amount of time you'll want to dedicate fraking toasters. Great fun if you want to frag some of your friends or eHomies online, I'm looking at you Lordhh!!

Author: omniconsumerOver 6 million gamers logged into Valve’s Steam over this past holiday weekend in the US. Undoubtedly motivated by Steam's Fall Sales and its many wallet grabbers, this also rode the waves of numerous major releases such as Assassin’s Creed 3, PlanetSide 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The player count peaked around 11:00 a.m. PST Sunday with 6,045,912 users who logged on. However, take notice that’s just logins, not active gaming sessions.

Let me preface this review with the fact that this is the only hand to hand combat game I have ever played. I don't know how this compares to anything else, but I can tell you how it plays for me. Chivalry immediately strikes me as the Medieval equivalent to ‘Call of Duty’. The game types are generally quick, the maps are small and the fun is casual. But please don't take my ‘Call of Duty’ reference as an insult to the game. I’m still a noob but the fighting mechanics are simple, easy to pick up and deeper than I had anticipated. This is purely a multiplayer game. Some of the game types include free for all, last team standing and objective based team battles. There are several maps and 4 classes to choose from. Of course as incentive to keep playing each class has several unlockable weapons you earn as you play. The visuals are pretty good especially for an indie game like this. Chivalry runs on the Unreal 3 engine. There is blood, and all manner of gore, when you land a hit. Don't be surprised to see heads roll and limbs fly. Generally, I would say this game is good for a casual play. It’s a game I go to when I want something light hearted and not too serious. For me the real fun comes from the surprise blows I give or receive with my friends online and the often surprising bloody results. Would I recommend this game? If you’re bored, you have friends who are willing to play it with you and you have an extra $25 laying around then sure. But I wouldn't say it’s a must buy.

Author: OmniconsumerHotline Miami is a 2D top-down action video game brought to us by Dennaton Games, an indie team composed of Jonatan Söderström and Dennis Wedin. This game immerses you in ultra violent and insane storytelling, along with a soundtrack and visuals influenced by 1980s culture. Looking to kick someones head in? Feel an urge choke someone with your bare hands out as they lay unconscious on the floor? If a Hellz Yea comes to mind, then this game is for you! It's simple, brutal, visceral, unforgiving and an all around murder/death/kill satisfying game. Takes me back to the early days of PC gaming, but just way more raw. It lays in between Syndicate and GTA I. You play chapter per chapter, unlocking each one as you go. You unlock unique abilities and unlock certain weapons as you move chapter through chapter. Story is just psychotically fantastic. All in all, definitely play-worthy.
