How do u guys get your desktops so cool mine is incredibly generic and need something to make it cooler.

step1: get windows 7 (can skip if you already have it)

step2: pick an image from one of those sites

mine is now about as minimalistic as one can get (this is NOT an art piece, this is a real desktop.. and piff no i aint givin ya my external ip)




icons are on fences (double click hide), taskbar hidden, everything needed is right where i need it

That's pretty cool and practical.  I'm a minimalist in general.  I suppose once I "upgrade" to Win 7 I'll have to start looking for a visually effective desktop.

I love those apps and really depend on them for productivity: fences, rainlender, rainmeter, rocketdock... but I have yet to find a really good virtual desktop manager for W7... the ones I used for XP all are really tweaky in 7. Anyone got a good one that works well?
