Whats your refresh rate set at? anything capped above 85 hertz? Bf2 will crash.

I had the same trouble. Is this when you try to go into a server, and right when your about to start it blacks out and crashes?
I found the solution for this but only by luck. It's really easy too.

You restart your computer.

Well let's see here... you are running Windows 7 right? so my first thought would be to try running it in different compatibility modes. Check your video drivers and update or roll-back as necessary. Run memtest for the hell of it. Also... even if you get it running on W7 I think PB won't work correctly for W7... I've heard this but then again it might be fixed by now.

You could try going to:
C:\Documents and Settings\ ___ \My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\sound
And disabling the voice stuff.

Besides that... I dunno I'll think on it.

Aloha =)

Isn't the profile created when you start the game and create a profile?  If he's yet to do that...

Did you check refresh rates? Like I said if anything is forced to above 85hz it won't work. Had this problem for ages and couldn't figure it out. It's cause ReForce forced 100hz on 800x600 for CS.
