ok now when did GTX285s not qualify as top notch? I think you were reading the posts from like 2003 lmao.  Besides, I don't think 4800 is a card at all. =| What you really got? 4850, 4870, 4890, 4830? And how do you like ATI (in regards to drivers and support etc). I'm considering going ATI for my next buy.

I like this card a lot so far. Handles graphics amazingly well, was super easy to setup and hasn't given me a single problem. Drivers work perfetly, haven't had any issues what so ever. I used to do only nvidia, but after burning out a couple of their gforce cards back to back i switched over to ATI to give them a shot....haven't had any issues since.

I'm planning on sticking another 1TB HDD and another 4gigs of ram into this beast and then i'll be done

Yeah that's still a killer card. That's why I have high hopes for the 5850, I'm hoping it's the next gen 4850. Because the 4850 is right in the pocket as far as performance/price ratio. A really great buy, and 2 in Crossfire can run anything on highest I bet.
