Restoring Honor Rally
« on: August 28, 2010, 09:28:45 AM »
Restoring Honor Rally, Its a huge rally at the Mall in Washington D.C., Hosted by Glenn Beck

An hour ago (8:30CST) there were 19,000 viewers only online watching the live stream, there are currently 77,000 people viewing and thats not to mention the thousands and thousands of people at the Mall in DC watching also, I'd suggest tuning and and watching it, it should be a very insperational and moving rally.

OR
Turn on your TV and watch it on C-SPAN

Glenn Beck guess that around 200,000 people would watch the rally, and surprisingly his guess was pretty accurate, I mean this post too me maybe 3 mins to post and the Viewers are rising still, its at 82,000 now.

WOAH wait what Martin Luther King Jr.'s daughter or granddaughter said "I have a dream that WHITE privileges will be HUMAN privileges", Soooo when did "White" people automatically obtain the better privileges? The rally is to not be about color but to be unity as one in america no matter what your color, beliefs, just no matter what, soooo.... Why are we talking about one color having better privileges then others (if it was true), She could have said "I have a dream that Humans will one day have all the same privileges as one another".... Just saying.....

I'm probably the only person in LMC actually watching this haha

I was watching it too, but then it got a little weird, and the level of communication by the speakers left a lot to be desired for me. It got pretty religious too.

As far as the:
"I have a dream that WHITE privileges will be HUMAN privileges"

You are misunderstanding the message (another reason I think the speakers need better editors or simply aren't smart enough to understand all the possibilities for miscommunication). It means that the privileges of whites should be the privileges of all.  Personally I think that's frightfully arrogant. There aren't "white" privileges anymore. Equality rules now (amidst prejudices and bigots true, but that will likely never truly change... as stupid people will always find ways to hate others so as to focus their rage). I think it just dredges up old feelings of racism and prejudices that have been seeming to finally dissolve and wane among the masses.

Now they are singing. Oh my. "If it wasn't for the good lord and the man, we'd all be speaking german, living under the flag of japan." Wow, I'm not gonna open that up again. Far too conservative minded for me. It's good to see so many people united under a cause such as "Honor" though. I just hope it's in support of peace and equality. Maybe it's just my aversion to country music that's putting me off though lol. And it's good to see the honoring of the troops, along with national unity.

I really dislike glen beck i think hes not a good example for unity amongst beliefs being that he is far to conservative for the good of others beliefs.

Of course it doesn't help that I think that Glenn Beck is a fool. Just my opinion. His intentions are probably pure, who knows... he may ONLY want to spread love and honor. But sometimes the worst deeds come from the best intentions.

We are walking around in a minefield right now.  White people know how to party.

Ethnocentricity is lame.

But on a lighter note, are you guys as excited as I am about the mass Koran burning on September 11th?   Fun fun fun !!!
