Are you a gun owner? If not, why? If you are, why?

Yes, I am. I think its pretty essential to own a gun. Whether for home defense, hunting, or exercising your 2nd amendment, guns come in handy. Plus, they're loads of fun to shoot.

Yes, I am a gun owner.

I think you should be allowed to own your own fire arm and be able to defend yourself if needed, but I also think you should have to pass an intelligence and morality test first...

LMAO... =S =P

I own no guns, but I do own other weapons, and I know how to use them with great effect. I'm just not comfortable with guns. Maybe after being around them in the future I won't mind quite so much. I was trained differently and they feel dishonorable in some ways (from the traditionalist Japanese way of thought). I would like to learn how to use them. But unless things got really crazy in this country... I doubt I would own one at all. (and if I did it would be locked away really well)

Aloha =)

My fraternity no longer allows me to own a gun after what happened at the last date party (should've probably checked to see if that shotgun was loaded or not before I walked in).

Little do they know that under the third floor hallway's floorboards right outside my room are a large stash of birdshot and two 590s.

Will be soon and i can throw a knife like a champ being that that and a slingshot with .30 buckshot counts haha and i have a butterfly knife also. I think everyone is allowed to own a firearm being that it is a constitutional amendment and it gives me the right to uphold it.

Yea that's great.  However, being people as people are, exercising ones constitutional rights and exercising ones constitutional rights responsibly are two wholly different things.  How much gun violence exists in this country?  A lot.  People love their instruments of death.  They also love the money and power that comes along with it.

Oh and nowadays its all the rage to pick and choose what constitutional rights suits us at the moment and what doesn't.  Freedom of speech being pesky? Throw it out.  Freedom of religion causing annoyance? w/e who needs that!  Protections against unlawful searches and seizures anyone? pfffft..so last year.

All this stuff makes us feel better about where we live and the supposed rights we have.  I say 'supposed' because most Americans don't realize that its an individual fight and responsibility to protect uphold these rights.  Especially by keeping our government's in check which we so miserably fail day to do day in and day out.

Of course those of you in Canada and Europe, have your own battles to fight.

So you're implying that gun owners cause the overall gun violence in the country? I don't think so...The tyrants with all their power will continue their ongoing quests trying to take our firearms away. IMO with all these do-gooders and safety Sallys it won't be very long until we have lost our second amendment completely. People now adays see firearms and think of death....

They can take the firearms away from all the law abiding citizens and the criminals will still have theirs.

Hey and while they're at it, take away cars, they kill people. Oh, and don't forget cigarettes, they kill people too...

If you took away cars, cigarettes and guns I would murder you with a spoon.
