Micro-waves cannot knock electrons off atoms and can not cause mutation so short answer to this is NO.!!!

All a micro-wave can do is cause vibration ie. heat something up a little bit. meaning the only dangerous place to induce heat with micro-waves is the eyes as they have no sufficient way of losing the heat.

Everyone is so scared of radiation though most know nothing about it. It may be a scary word today but do you know that the radioactive Carbon-14 in your body has a half-life of 5730 years.

yes you are radioactive and does it matter...??? NO

radiation is a broad term and the type of radiation people call micro-wave radiation one meter down to one millimeter is nothing of concern.

In the usa you have a 20 percent chance of cancer anyway so just try to find the actual cases of this wile fishing through the random regular chances of cancer.

when reading articles like this always ask 2 things.  do they study physics and is the person they spoke to a physicist.

will debate anyone on this subject..!!!

A good article:

http://www.gq.com/cars-gear/gear-and-gadgets/201002/warning-cell-phone-radiation

HAHAHA! Oh wow! *wipes laughing tear out of his eye*

If that really was anything that seriously dangerous I'd be either retarded or dead by now considering how much i use the phone.

Do you?

Most people don't realize they are constantly being irradiated every second of everyday. Most of the radiation we come into contact with is low energy.

UV and above is when radiation starts to affect us.  Microwaves aren't on this chart but they are down there with radio waves.

Cancer is not just caused by ionizing electromagnetic radiation. ;) most skin cancer is , but that does not account for many others  Physicists are not doctors. The processes that contribute to replication are incredibly complex, and can be affected in many ways. So I think your comment is inapplicable. Life is not as simple as physics lab ane one must open their mind before even being able to see what we don't yet know. =)

Learn more about cancer duude. =) Cancer is not just caused by electromagneic radiation. ;) Only skin cancer generally is that I know of. Use google! Physicists are NOT doctors.

Tell that to Stephen Hawking.  Anyway, there are a piffload of different ways to get Cancer, no where did either of us say that EM waves are the only way to get it.

There's a chance cancer can be caused by anything. Cancer is caused by mutation of the gene's that affect cell multiplication that isn't repaired (as in the cell doesn't die off).  This mutation can be caused by a multitude of factors.

You can get all forms of cancer from exposing yourself to inordinate types of different electromagnetic radiation.  If we put our balls under an x-ray machine and have a party then we would get testicular cancer.

Omni we are talking about micro-waves not x-rays (very different) and no if u got x-rays to the balls you would have a CHANCE of cancer thats all, like with every x-ray you have taken. There is no definite. but the dose is so small i wouldn't care bout it.

lol just trolling now  ;)

With enough x-rays you'll fry your balls.

(lol I just caught-up to the replies)

I'm a little surprised by how close-minded you guys are treating this discussion. Research shows otherwise, my friends. Non-ionizing radiation can have potentially serious effects on living organisms and inorganic matter. I won't lecture since I can see that this thread has already reached critical mass (in closed-mindedness), but I do hope that some of you take the time to do a little research to broaden your awareness of cancer (and even physics regarding non-ionizing radiation and that it can effect more that some give it credit for here).

Personally I believe that cell phones seriously increase your risk of brain cancer, but I still can't seem to part with it. I also think that it can have profound effects on mood and behavior due to affecting the electrical dynamics of the brain. I do try to use speaker phone whenever possible though.

Being called 'closed-minded' from all directions is kind of annoying to be honest. 'Closed minded' would mean we are on the whole generally ignorant, not open to others opinions or idea's and all in all probably feeble brained because of it. Nobody here is an oncologist or an expert on the subject so to call other's closed minded about this would make that person calling others closed minded well.... pretty closed minded:P

I have also never heard of people getting brain cancer due to increased cell phone usage.  Has anybody here ever?  People have been using cell phones for 15 years or so and there is no solid evidence on the subject.  This is all media fodder so let's all stop denying it and move on.
