Luftwaffles
« on: November 18, 2011, 04:39:46 AM »
I'm a married, father of a 3 year old. I also have a thick Canadian accent. Very Canadian. Here is a picture of me playing RO2. I swear, it's me: mustache, shoulder hair,  and all. I don't have the internet. I just run back and forth between the servers.

Some people say I'm hardcore. I don't think I'm hardcore enough.

Hey sup dude!  I am glad you took the time out of your day to check us out!  You seem like a really cool dude and I look forward to gaming with you more.  We need more RO2 players like yourself around here.

By the way, your picture made me LoL.  I still have a hard time believing it's you though.  Still a funny picture though.

Yes sir! My favorite (I think) is the Remington manufactured M91 (1917) on the top right that was captured by the Finnish!

Quite the collection! Do you shoot them or are they mostly for show?

Cool display set up man. I thought about doing that a while ago but decided not too cause i feel better with them in the safe. I love those C&R rifles.. ive got a 1925 mosin MO marked tula 91/30 and dropped a doe with it last year. I see a k98 there in the bottom rack, mines a AR code '41 and i've dropped at least 5 deer with her. Just got rid of my m1 garand to fund some other things. My dad just got a nagant revolver it's a nice shooter. Good to have another gun owner in here.

Just show. I'd have an OCD break down if I shot corrosive ammo through them lol. I just have a little Ruger Target .22 for plinking.

MO rifles are super cool. I'm sure you've done your research on it about it being their ministry of defense mark  :)

I'm looking for a Swedish Mauser ATM. None of the gun shops near me seem to have any.  I want delicious 6.5mm

Marxman you're never gonna find one of those guns..because they dont exist. The gun you showed a picture of is a swedish m96 some dumbass got a hold of and decided it would be cool to cut the barrel down. Also you will be paying out the ass for 6.5x55 ammo.

Luftwaffles if you don't wanna shoot corrosive ammo through it which is good because that means more ammo for me(I clean them of course). Plenty of companies make 7.62x54r, brown bear, tula, winchester, prvi partizan to name a few. And for the Nagant revolver I know of Fiochi and Prvi Partizan making some. it's no fun having them just sit there begging to be shot.

First off, awesome picture, Luftwaffles. I can imagine talking to you would be rather enjoyable xD

My grandpa has been looking for one of those for a long time. Without a doubt, he can afford the ammo...he just needs to find the gun first.

I've seen plenty of Mausers with barrels cut down like that. I know a gun smith who is in his 70's that has all kinds of awesome stuff, and he had six German Mausers in his shop one day that all had their barrels cut down like that. He told me that they were some sort of fallschirmjäger variant of the Mauser, but I never looked into it to see for myself.

While we are on discussion of guns, I would like to ask you all if anybody has ever seen and/or fired a Spanish Destroyer Carbine? This could possible be something that any of you may be interested in. It has a Mauser action, but fires 9mm Largo. It's an odd gun to read about, but I have one sitting three feet from me right now and I LOVE it  ;D I have had the thing since I was 8 years old...and 8 years later, I'm still firing it. Finding ammunition for it gets to be a bit of a challenge; I have brass and stuff to load my own rounds, though.

Sorry if it seems I went off topic. I just thought that gun talk seemed to be something that Luftwaffles is comfortable with  :D

I don't know of any paratrooper k98's out there. Most likely fakes..u see that all the time. But I have seen "tanker" m48's from mitchell's mauser which the company is well known in the Mauser world as the turd producer. They convert yugoslavian m48's or perfectly good Russian Capture k98's and scrub them clean of markings and putt SS stuff and all matching serials with rare codes, then new stock and everything re-blued then sell it for $700-1000. I've only held a Spanish Destroyer Carbine once at a gunshow. I have never seen 9mm largo anywhere except for a catalog I get from Century Arms that has surplus ammo. Honestly if i were u I would get rid of it and put the money towards something I can get a lot of trigger time on but im sure u are rlly attached to it. I can't bring myself to sell some of my guns too.

I am VERY attached to my Destroyer Carbine xD
I am to the point now where I can pull it up and drop a groundhog at 200+ (my furthest shot ever is a groundhog past 300 yards using a 1903 Springfield) yards using just muscle memory :D ammo is hard to find for it...but I have close to 400 rounds and that is enough for all the more shooting I do with it. I have read in magazines, though, that you can use .38 Super brass to reload 9mm Largo. I have compared the casings and they look about the same...maybe I'll give it a try this summer when I have a good amount of time away from school.
