Farthest I've shot at an animal was 150 yards with my CETME on the powerlines. Bullet went through that bucks lungs and he didnt go far. 308 isnt very forgiving when it hits you. I had just mounted a scope and sighted it in a few days earlier.
I dont really get the chance to hunt hogs in my part of the state. I have to drive to the southern part where my father's friend, dad owns land. My friends, and I have gone down there for the weekend and always come back with so much meat. We unleash hell on those hogs. Each of us brought 2 rifles and 1 sidearm. I brought my AK, K98, and Glock 30. I was with a buddy of mine and at the time I had already dropped a hog with my AK and I was helping my friend out because the dogs were barking like crazy and trying to fight 4 big ass hogs. Long story short my friend ended up popping 2 hogs in the head with his Springfield XD .45 and my other friend got one with his mosin m44. I would post a pic but Kauai would not approve
