The following information and posts are to help in better understanding our recruitment process:
You may skip this long winded introduction and read the next post for the Summary and Details. This first post will be a full introduction to our recruitment system. But it will not include the details of requirements. You must also post an Introduction with as little or as much info about you as you wish to post.
Because we are very selective about who we admit into the clan, we have a specific recruitment process to help us in maintaining our goal of a mature and skilled member population.
To briefly overview this system I will illustrate the major steps in the process of becoming an LMC Member:Step 1. Application:The first step in becoming an LMC member is to post an application in the
"New Applications" forum area. When posting your application you must use the
Application Template. Make sure to fill out all the information and read the template instructions to demonstrate your competency. You must also post an introduction in the
“Introduce Yourself” thread. All of this is to make sure you have an attention span longer than a goldfish, and are able to read and work the forums (an important part, considering all announcements and activities are coordinated in the forums!).
Step 2. Recruitment:Now is the first wait.
To be accepted as a recruit, you must receive an
Endorsement from an Officer. Once an
Officer's Endorsement is attained (posted in reply to your application in your application thread), you are officially a recruit and will be permitted to wear the LMC recruit tags ("name |LMC| .Recruit."). Please wait to be instructed on how to include the LMC tags, this eliminates any confusion or "Jumping the Gun" (adding the tags when you haven't been accepted yet but think you are), and will ensure you have them applied properly (incorrectly formatted tags might lead the admins to suspect you are impersonating a member and kick or ban you).
To help your chances, get to know the officers so that one of them will feel comfortable endorsing you. Remember, you can't get an endorsement from someone you haven't gamed with for at least an hour's worth of game-time. This is to ensure we have spent enough time with you to make a fair assessment of your maturity.
Step 3. Acceptance:This is the golden time. Once you've been accepted as a recruit you must convince other members that you posses the maturity to be an LMC member by
acquiring the minimum number of
endorsements. These remaining endorsements don't have to come from an Officer (but they can), they can come from any full member. You also have to be a recruit for 1 week minimum before you can become a full LMC member. (Recruits who are exceptions to the age-18-and-older requirement [under-age], must remain a recruit for two weeks before being eligible for acceptance as a member.)
Finally, you'll need one final endorsement from an officer to become a full member. You can get this final endorsement once you have met all the other requirements (req. time spent as a recruit and the required endorsements), and once you have this final endorsement giving you permission to wear the member tags (and if the required time has passed), you'll officially be a full LMC member!
