Grand Theft Auto V is heading to PC, PS4 4 and Xbox One this fall. The new versions were confirmed this evening in a trailer unveiled at Sony’s E3 2014 press conference. Rockstar would confirm shortly afterward that the new editions will “take full advantage of the power” of the new platforms to deliver “across-the-board graphical and technical improvements” including “increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic, and enhanced resolutions.”The new editions will likewise take full advantage of improvements and additions made to Grand Theft Auto V’s multiplayer component GTA Online. Players who own the current PS3 and Xbox 360 iterations will also be able to transfer their save files to the newer editions should they opt to upgrade. Lastly, Rockstar has revealed that the PC game will come package with a video editor designed for “advanced movie-making.”
“Grand Theft Auto V” was announced for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC more than a week ago–a year after it was released.According to a report this week, it won’t be the exact same game, with Rockstar giving a few hints.“Grand Theft Auto V for PC will take full advantage of the power of PC to deliver across-the-board enhancements including increased resolution and graphical detail, denser traffic, greater draw distances, upgraded AI, new wildlife, and advanced weather and damage effects for the ultimate open world experience,” the company said, according to Forbes magazine.Rockstar said it will provide more depth, including better detail and atmospheric effects than the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.“The biggest, most dynamic and most diverse open world ever created and now packed with layers of new detail, Grand Theft Auto V blends storytelling and gameplay in new ways as players repeatedly jump in and out of the lives of the game’s three lead characters, playing all sides of the game’s interwoven story,” the firm said. And according to “Metal Gear Solid” director Hideo Kojima, the visuals for “Grand Theft Auto V” on the PS4 appear to be impressive.“What Rockstar has created and the world they have created is super impressive, and actually when I saw the PS4 version a few days ago I got depressed again. And this is not game design-related, it’s just me. The quality that they showed in the PS4 trailer was really impressive,” he told CVG.
Rockstar Confirms First Person Grand Theft Auto 5 www.youtube.com/embed/7oFmRN0oadIBack in September, a deleted support post from the Rockstar website teased that first person support was coming to Grand Theft Auto 5. Now Rockstar Games has finally confirmed the mode’s existence, unveiling its features for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions of the game.“Exclusive to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC versions of Grand Theft Auto V,” Rockstar wrote, “this new mode gives players the chance to explore the world of Los Santos and Blaine County directly through the eyes of their character, revealing all the world’s glorious details in an entirely new way.”From the sounds of things, this new first-person mode doesn’t just shift the camera into your character’s heads. Rockstar has designed new first person cover and targeting systems, altered game animations, and tweaked the controls to a more traditional FPS layout. And that’s on top of a visual upgrade to 1080p for PS4 and Xbox One platforms, with 4K for PC. Sure, GTAV still hits your eyeballs at 30 frames per second, but it should be enough to get fans excited. All features will also be carried over to GTA Online as well. The first person GTA perspective lands on the PS4 and Xbox One on Nov. 18, 2014. PC players will get their version of the game on Jan. 27.
