I've been a part of this game since it's conception several months ago, and I wanted to share it all with you (and hopefully gain some recruits in game

).
Ashes of Phoenix is based off of Fallout 1 and 2, but the entire world/locations and art have been redone. Everything in AoP (barring the original fallout stuff that made it in game) is original. It's based in post-apocalyptic Arizona, specifically phoenix ( Lol Ashes of Phoenix I know right). 4 Factions are warring over "The Core"......aka the ruined skeleton of the city.
There are:
The Lawyers
Self proclaimed Sheriff types who want o bring law & order to the wastes.
The Brahmin Boys
Good ol' boys, farmers, and backcountry folk alike banded together to form this democratic mob of sorts. They want to bring democracy and "freedom" to the wastes.
The V-Technologists
A bunch of former scientists and descendants vault dwellers make up this faction. They have an emphasis on Energy Weapons and are driven by pursuit of knowledge.
And Finalllllyyyyyyyyyy................
THE FAMILY Basically a bunch of Mafiosos, Hookers, Addicts, Thugs, Pickpockets, and Drug dealers that have banded together under "The Don". Their mission is pure and simple: profit, business, and a little bloodshed.
The Family is my Faction, and they get a kickass hotel as an HQ. Not only that but you're close to important crafting materials on the map.
In the stickied topics
here you'll find a guide to the different faction HQs.
I strongly recommend choosing the Family, as they have a lot of really friendly players. I also will not be able to help you out with equipment or extra firepower if you choose to pick a different side.
I should mention this game is sort of team-based, your faction members will help you out. Large fights happen often in the center of the game map, or, "The Core". The game revolves around the Core, with different Zones providing different benefits. Factions fight over the zones so their vendors can have better items. Owning a zone also means NPC patrols will roam it looking for enemies, and the zone will display a message if enemies are moving through it. Scavenging is a big part of the game, as it should be in fallout, and each zone corresponds to different types of loot. For instance, If I wanted Polymers and Kevlar to build armors, I would head over to the PV Polymer Lab zone and scav around a bit. If I needed pipes for guns I'd head to the water treatment plant (Family HQ is located near both of these). The gameplay is extremely unique and anyone who's a fan of Fallout should give it a try.
WARNINGIf you're familiar with fallout, you know that it is turn based. This iteration isn't. It's in real time, with Action Point Regeneration based on your Agility stat. This allows for faster, more dynamic combat truly fitting of the fallout series.
This is the core, mostly owned by The Family at this exact screenshot.

In these last 2 the Brahmin Boys and Family are Cooperating to take on Vtecs and Lawyers.

I've attached a couple screenshots below and I have a few more for anyone interested.
