Hi, I don't think we discussed a map did we? how about Baghdad ?

Also we're aware of ESL's  point system but would like to suggest using a system that we've been using for our own ladder which awards teams for holding points and works better as their is less draws.

Quote
INS MATCH SCORING

2 Rounds each side is the standard

Push

Playing as Iraqi

Holding A at end of round is 4 points
Holding B at end of round is 3 points
Holding C at end of round is 2 points
Holding D at end of round is 1 Point
Losing D (being caped out) is 0 points

Playing as Marines

Caping no objective would be 0 points
Capturing A would be 1 point
Capturing B would be 2 points
Capturing C would be 3 points
Capturing D (Cap out) would be 4 points

Example

If marines captured A B and C on almaden, they would gain 3 points and the Iraqi team would get gain 1 point for defending D

If the marines caped the map out, they would get 4 points for all the objectives and iraqi would get 0 points.

Max score for 2 Rounds each side would be 16-0 (for 4 objective maps)

Battle

Playing as Iraqi

Losing A (being caped out) is 0 points
Holding A at end of round is 1 point
Holding B at end of round is 2 points
Holding C at end of round is 3 points
Holding D at end of round is 4 points
Capturing E is 5 points

Playing as Marines

Losing E (being caped out) is 0 points
Holding E at end of round is 1 point
Holding D at end of round is 2 points
Holding C at end of round is 3 points
Holding B at end of round is 4 points
Capturing A is 5 points

FireFight

1 point for caping the map out

What do you think?

What do you think?

Except that with that format, firefight maps give very little points.
How about a modified version that ensures that you can get the same maximum points for each map type?:

Quote
Firefight:
Win: 1pt
Win in under 5 min: 2pts
Win in under 2 min: 3pts

Push:
Defender win: pts = objectives held (Max 3)
Attacker win: 3pts

Battle:
Win (most objectives held): pts = winning team objs - loosing team objectives  (max 2pts)
All-out win (captured all objectives): 3pts

Morale (score):
Team with highest morale gets 1pt per double [add up morale totals from all rounds, if team A's morale is higher than team B's morale, then team A gets 1 point; if 2x higher, 2 points; if 3x higher, 3 points.
(this last bit solves any ties, and I think it's nice to award initiative)

Thoughts?  =)

If we can't agree on a point system we can always just go by the simple win/loss by round... how do you deal with baghdad? (We like to play it as whoever has C, wins; But I think we're ok with simple all or none too)

I gotta say the example i copy and pasted is a bit confusing.

Basically it's 1pt for each objective held at the end of the round. So on baghdad for example:

If you're marines  and you hold C untill the end of the round then the score for that round would be 3-2 for the marines. We each play 2 rounds as marines and 2 as INS, after 4 rounds we simply add the total score for the final verdict.

How does that sound?

You're suggestion wouldn't work even if agreed since it's known the current INS scoreboard (moral/kill count) is bugged. let me know if its all clear now.

I understand it perfectly. :) Not confusing at all actually (what could possibly be simpler than getting a point for each objective? lol  ;D). I just think that it makes map type uneven, and in multiple map type matches you will have massive unbalance. By keeping map point maximums at a baseline, you effectively remove that problem, and scoring becomes more fair. ;)

If you don't understand what I'm proposing, then we could get together early and I could explain the mechanics behind it.  :)

And how is the morale system bugged exactly? I hadn't noticed. (unless you are talking about the occasional tally switch?)  :-[

Aloha and see you tonight!! =D

P.S. - An alternative way to score firefight maps for my proposed method, would be to award 3pts for a win, and in case of a tie if there is a difference in objectives held at the end of the round, award the difference in pts (maximum of 2pts) to the team with more objectives held.

Sometimes it doesn't register kills therefore affecting total moral score.

That sounds like it could work well, lets go with that.

Great games! you guys are probably the best team we've ever played! We weren't on our "A-game", but next time we'll be more prepared lol.

Scores:
8-0 (simple round win/loss)
29-3 (your ladder point method)
21-0 (my proposed method)

A stinging defeat for the LMC Community team... but you'll find that our competitive teams have more bite, and that next time we won't have underestimated you.

Great games and I look forward to a rematch!

Aloha =)
