While I fully support this idea, I'm not sure DOD:S is the best choice of game to have a team on. There really is not much of a place for tactics or strategy, unless you count MG placement and and different people covering different areas. Its a very arcadey sort of game, and much of what determines how good you are, how many kills you get, how many times you die, is just luck. I can't tell you how many times I've been killed because I had a cone of fire. Sure I can use controlled bursts, but the bullets will often not go where I want. Even if you get the drop on them, its still iffy. My point is, taking this game seriously may take some work. So if we truly want a community team or an official one, we have to change the way we play DOD:S. Most people (including myself) will just run out into bullets with no regard or care. So I think until we change how we think of the game itself, (take it semi-seriously) I don't think a team will be successful.
