The brütal thread.
« on: April 14, 2013, 04:31:25 pm »
This one is for us metalheads who simply can't metal in their diet. Pop, Electro or alternative, gtfo.
What is the purpose of this thread? Simply put, post your favourite songs or artists, the ones that make you wanna go on a rampage or simply headbang.
I've listened to plenty of metal bands of varying subgenres, and here are a few I want to share with you.

Lets kick this off by some extreme metal. Seriously, that is what the genre is supposed to be. Made by one guy, this is pretty impressive.
http://tyrantofdeath1.bandcamp.com/album/re-connect

Here we have a band that's won some awards. I can clearly see why.

If you are like me, and you like industrial stuff, no, not that technobabble that has stolen the name, but the breed of industrial that was presented in Killing floor, don't hesitate to check the soundtrack by zYnthetic out. I absolutely love it.
zYnthetic [SFTA] 13 Killphase

If you like celtic/folk metal, I've a band I'd like to introduce to you. Happens to be one of my most listened bands. It's called Eluveitie.
Eluveitie - Tegernako

My number one favourite and most listened to band. Communic. Mixed with some badarse instrumental work, and without growling it hits the jackpot. Two of their albums are worth the price threefold.
Communic Communication Sublime with lryics

Be a pirate.
Alestorm - Rum

And here is my second favourite band. Pyramaze. Everything about this band is spot on perfect.
Pyramaze - What Lies Beyond

Here's a band that sat on my playlists for a LONG time. Just couldn't get enough of it. Septic flesh. Bloody brilliant.
SepticFlesh - Therianthropy (with lyrics)

Here's some interesting music by Scar Symmetry. They vary between growling and normal well.
scar symmetry - morphogenesis

But hey, I'm not done yet. If you listen to these now, I'll throw in this song as well. Why, you ask. Well because it's melodic, it's death metal, and it's got a bit of black in it.
Mistweaver - May God Deliver Death

Well that's it for me now. As you can tell, I like my songs with melody.
What are the songs that you like?

F*cking finally, I was hoping we would get more badass metalheads in here.
Thanks for recommendations man. I've always been big into folk, heavy, thrash, southern Metal and hardcore.

I'm a big Pantera fan and this band sounds just like 'em.
Throwdown - Weight of the World with Lyrics

Classic sound, I really dig 'em

Brilliant songs. I'm having horrible day, and these just made it a bit better. :)

While making this thread last night, I forgot the bands who's discs I own in physical form.

Here's an album that is about constantly playing from my CD player. It has taken influence from Dream Theater, but put the good bits of their music into more metallic form. I make a correction here and say that this is my fave band/album. I feel bad for forgetting these guys ;_;
This album's lyrics are all about a resistance/war between man and machine. Hosted with amazing artwork in the album leaflet, it is something i can't put down.
Symphony X - Iconoclast (2011) [Full Album] [Deluxe Edition]

Sometimes I have a habit of buying an album based purely on its looks. It's a thrill to find out what you got later when you get home. Usually I buy them with a discount price, because the last time I bought a mystery disc full price, it was awful. However this gem found its way to my stack of CDs last year. The first song ain't the greatest, but the rest is pretty good.
Trivium - Shogun - Whole Album + Extras

I saw this sitting in the CD store. Sadly I didn't pick it up when I did, because the album sounds glorious.
Periphery - Periphery II Full Album Stream (IN STORES NOW)

Now what kind of a metal head would I be if I didn't mention Machinae supremacy. Their lyrics are pure gold in my opinion, mostly because it's VERY critic against modern society and the way we live. Also the game influence is awesome.

This song is popular but that doesn't take away from how amazing it is
