ye alot of those tips can be very helpful to any beginners to insurgency or fps's in general. Also i use smokes as distractions all the time like wink said.

here are a couple quick beginner hints that i've noticed work-

-when using a sniper on a moving target, lead the target. so put the crosshair where the target is going to be then shoot when he crosses ur sights.

-in baghdad on insurgents, in order to get delta be sure to get pharmacy, specifically the 1st floor so u can clear out 1st floor of gas station while ur mates are on roof.

edited for wink >_< sorry my bad

Theyr kinda random pieces of advice and many of you probably already know all of them, but i think they can be  helpful

re edited: phlo dammit... that spot on the rock in the west is MINE!! (yes im the first one who has been documented on that spot.. used it since buhriz came out.. and not many players know that.. and i want to keep it that way) that has to go to the 1337 tactics section cuz that spot, if used correctly (1 good player there with u or 2 average players) u can hold the bridge almost alone forever... or until u run out of ammo... ive played as a insurgent with a teamful of ppl who were wandering around c, learing the map prolly and a friend.. the result: me and my friend held off a team of 10 marines of A for about 11 minutes... this is how good this spot is so imo this is not supposed to be in the public section

The best part about insurgents on buhriz, is the fact that you can set up your mg on a stairway, and lean left and right to get cover and make picks. If I ever run with the MG I usually do this and well it's pretty effective..

On samahaw (don't know the map name bro) and the night version I usually rush to d and sit inside the door way crouched looking outside. That way I usually get a clear view of who's coming to get me, and if they flank inside the door way it's an easy shot as well. If I've got a buddy with me I usually go upstairs and cover c and B captures pretty well by myself, although if there's a lot of pressure a 3 man setup would work well. If you think about it, it's probably THE MOST if not A VERY effective setup, and efficient. If you've got a 2-man-cap game going then it's literally 10% or less of your team to cover 3 objectives.

Sinjar, obviously to setup on A lay down machine gun fire and sniper coverage (3-4 guys) on the hill while everyone else (minus two, more on this later) gets in A fast, and hugs the RIGHT SIDE. The reason for this is it tricks the insurgents a little bit because they toss their nades and look to the left side (from marine angle) and don't see a rush. They usually suspect that MORE of the marines are working delta/firing on the hill.. the machine gunners and snipers need to be efficient in suppressing almost ALL of the hill-line or this won't work. You send the final two guys up the stairs at the same time to cover anyone flanking from delta, and watch the push on the hill behind the insurgents. On insurgents I like to run down a and get as many as i can tossing nades and muck, then when we lose A I usually sit back at the end of the double wall bottom one and pick people off like mad. I can cover the entire street and the double wall by myself in a 16 man game :D

Baghdad is a tricky one. You really need to get in C quick as both teams and just toss the nades and work that RPG, although they are pretty easy targets :D Once you lose/get C fallback/push to next objective. Don't ever try recapturing (unless you are 100% sure, communicate) otherwise you'll leave yourself two positions down becaue the other team capped your next obj before you could retake the lost one! When taking E as marines, send two guys enroute down their spawn to the back way of E, it's a little cheap (but I do it in a way to avoid fire-hence detection-from their spawn, pretty sneaky) but it's really part of the battle..

enough for now.

question to viral about karkar... what team r u talkin about? (btw the night map is samawah.. good try tho)

how to clear samawah upstairs when there is someone up there and you already managed to sneak in.... if u know where he is (usually looking towards C from the windows, near the ammo cache or behind the sandbags on B side..

the answer is simple: toss a COOKED nade up there so he wouldnt have a chance to get away from it... same works for buhriz bridge roadblock thingies as a marine (kauai knows my f*cking awesome airburst grenade that went off right above his head xD)

i usually count til 3 or 4... sometimes 3 and a half.. by my counting speed i can count up to 5 [rarely 5 and a quarter] til it blows.. so my counting speed is about 0.6 seconds per number (nades have a 3 second fuse)
i suggest you guys perfect your grenade cook times in our practice range or in the "create server" thing

p.s. edited my last post (phlo... that spot on the rock west of the bridge... MINE! not many ppl know about this and i want to keep it that way)

Doesn't samawah have a night AND day? So I'd be correct, no?

Ultimate Sniper Tip: Dont stay in the same spot for more then 2 consecutive kills. Other snipers that are good will find you easily

Rifle Tips:
use Bursts when firing
Dont Scope when face to face combat is in progress
Never full auto it
Scope at far distances

Shotgun Tips:
Press the mouse button down, Basically they will die everytime!

Sinjar, Marines  A then B, Sometimes also C

For sinjar on marine side i have this one trick i always do alone with an M4 but it works better with a sniper and 2 autos. What you do is push to A like you normally would and capture the objective (now here's where the plan starts).
After you get Alpha most of your team will push straight to b and 3 of you will Flank to D side (try to have 2 autos and a sniper). Now you have to be cautious for insurgents, but you will all push and get to town (in a tight group). Now once you are in town slowly make your way so the sniper has a clear view of bridge, Once he does the two auto's need to protect him. The way this works is that the sniper clears of bridge and top of B (inside, Etc.) and that allows your team to progress and Capture B objective (Bravo). Once this is completed The squad of 3 has easy access to C, although you have to be really quick about getting there so position yourself in a way where you can easily sprint and capture.

                     Its a Win Win situation!

For Sinjar It would be extremely wise for you to flank Alpha first. Make sure you send a marksman to cover the right flank where the double-walls are and the rock(Insurgens seenm to like to hide there). Once you have secured Alpha send one of your Marksman to cover the area around the double-walls and get him to cover the advance of a grenadier which whill next flank down and fire some smg grendades to clear the area where the bridge is. Now send 2 Rifle-Man to move towards the bridge and the rest of your men to advance towards Bravo. Make sure your Marksman cover your advance, that is vital. Once you have taken Bravo send a sharpshooter to cover Charley and get a grenadier to shoot smg nades towards Charley to cover the advance of 2 rifleman along with 1 support gunner for some heavy fire(Expeect heavy resistance on the balcony). Once you have succesfuly captured and eliminated all Insurgens in the area, get 2 grenadier's to one again fire apon the Bravo position with smg nades to overwhelm the Insurgens. Make sure you cover ALL flanks by Bravo because if you don't the Insurgens will flank you and recapture Charley. Once your grenadiers are covering get 2 rifle-man to move in and throw some nades into Delta and get them to move in along with a support support gunner and the snipers covering the flanks around Delta. If one of your teammates pulls a Lee Roy Jenkins feel free to join in. Enjoy you victory! You diserved it!

In response to shadow:  with rifles do not use burst fire.   Always use single shot when you have the advantage.  Use burst or full auto when not scoped in or in dangerous cqb situations.  M249s should always use short bursts.  When sniping never stay scoped in the whole time.  You will get tunnel vision and will get shot.

Wow i totally disagree with everything you just said. You definitely shouldn't stay scoped in the whole time with the sniper, unless you have a designated target other then that it is stupid u need to be watching your flanks! Full auto is definitely the stupidest thing you can do, obviously forgetting about recoil! Even close encounters you should never full auto it, that is what the secondary is for.

I have this one strategy for Almaden.

When you are working A if you work your way slowly up to the large hole in the wall to the right, across from the mosque you can sprint across the street, clear the mosque, and then go down the hallway to the left and clear that entire hallway. Then while your team is capturing A you can make your way through the large hole and run to bravo. after bravo is captured you can then make your way through the buildig leading to the ladder, make your way to delta and flank into C, one thats done back track and capture Delta. Works almost everytime.

i found this video on youtube and it shows some pretty good ideas

http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-dos7U8Aeg

this one focuses on close quarter battles and gives some good hints on how you should enter and clear buildings.

its number four in the series and the first three pretty much lay down common sense, but it wouldnt hurt to check em out

enjoy
