Music to groove to
« on: October 24, 2014, 10:52:47 pm »
while everyone knows bob marley and probably most people have listened to rastafari teachings by solo banton there are other things to listen to so i've decided to post some stuff i like to listen to lately

1. ever since my amsterdam trip this june i've always listened to the Distant Relatives album by Damian Marley and Mas, my roommates played often and it just became a habit, other than that it's a great album

Nas Y Damian Marley-Distant Relatives (Disco Completo/Full Album)

2. i found that while listening to a dub mix and it quickly turned into a favourite

Blasta ft. Solo Banton - Burn Babylon Coke

what about you?

I usually have some oldschool on when I chill, changes everyday though.  I'd recommend any of the Marley's, my favorite being Stephen Marley. If you like distant relatives you'll like

De La Soul Is Dead is a great, great, great album to have on while chilling.

This is juts my fav song on the album for said purposes

This is a classic too, something I throw on every once in a while.  Sublime's Robbin the Hood

And goddammit if the Gorillaz didn't make some of the best chilling music known to man

This is always such a great song.

I personally enjoy this version and time of recording.

I says things to me on many different levels of interpretation.

Depends on the time period I listen.

Love the storytelling and the mixture of old & new styles in this one, Aretha Franklin and Mos Def.
