The Halloween Update is out!

The minecraft.net server is a bit overwhelmed at the moment, so you might not be able to get in immediately.

There’s a whole pile of new content in this update, and a bunch of bugs in multi player got fixed. Here’s what I managed to fit in:

Next up, I will take a couple of days off, then get started on survival mode multiplayer and make a push towards reaching Beta. I will also finish moving minecraft.net over to the much faster server and DDOS protection I signed up for last week.

We’ll move in to our fancy new offices slightly ahead of schedule, on November 15. Initially, it’ll be just me, Daniel and Jakob, but about two weeks later, Jeb and <SECRET ARTIST NAME WITHHELD UNTIL HE’S QUIT HIS JOB> will join us.

my current task at hand in minecraft:

Old-Ebonheart from TES3: Morrowind's mod Tamriel Rebuilt

overall progress: about 15%
east (right) tower progress: 90% done, 7 floors, bridge, to do: interiors
main tower progress: 5% done, removing a huge mountain that was in the way, to do: tower, 9 floors, interiors, 3 bridges
north tower progress: 0%
south tower progress: 0%
west tower progress: 0%
walls progress: 0%

plans: get the server software to work properly on my old pc and host a server with that map from there

current map includes: 1 finished castle, 2 houses, a vault (inspired from fallout 3), ruins (church, lighthouse, 2 misc buildings), lighthouse
current map's terrain features: ocean, desert, rainforest, temperate

Last chance to get minecraft cheap! It goes beta in 7 days (20dec)!

Current price: about 10eur + free updates forever

price after it goes beta: 14.95eur and no free big updates (you'll get bugfixes but no new features for free)

Minecraft Beta: December 20, 2010
The next epoch is upon us! The skies are trembling, pigs are growing wings, and the nether is turning awfully cold, as Minecraft slowly crawls out of Alpha..

Minecraft will reach Beta status on December 20th, 2010.

With Beta comes a larger focus on polish and content, and we’ll start early on with adding proper modding support with a stable API, and we’d love all input we can get on this from the modders out there. We’ll also add some kind of non-intrusive narrative to the game to help drive the game experience early on, and to provide some kind of late game goal. There will be a bigger focus on testing and stability as well, with more time between updates.

When the game enters beta, the price will rise to 14.95 Euro.

We will also change the license to remove the line that promises all future versions of the game for free. Please note that this change only affects people who buy the game after December 20, so if you got the game for during alpha, you will still get all future updates for free, despite this change. A promise is a promise.
Buying the game during beta will include all updates up until release, of course, and bug patches will be free.

Soon, you will be able to buy gift codes for Minecraft, perfectly timed for the holidays! Even better, if you buy those before December 20, accounts created from these codes will count as alpha accounts, and will receive all future updates for free.

And the next game update (with server-side inventory) is coming next week, before Beta

Merry holidays happy! :D

its a survival sandbox game where u can create what ever you want (any shape or size as long as you can create it from boxes lol) but there are monsters that come out at night to make the game more challenging and you gotta mine/dig/cut your own materials and create your own tools

theres also the nether (hell realm thingy) where you can get to via portals

and multiplayer works too with all of the features you get in single player (tho a bit buggy because of the game being in development and getting constant updates)

to be honest...

i cant really describe minecraft

its just too many things

no seriously ... thats probably one of my worst descriptions ever....
