5870 only $170 after MIR... this is crazy. It's less than some 6850s yet more powerful. Some say it runs very hot and that the 5700 series suffers from micro stutters and such, but this is still a very good deal.

A nice starter package for a DIY gamer base. The onboard video is good enough to play games on low settings (I have the same chipset in one of my builds and I play borderlands on it!). All you'd have to do is upgrade to a sweet graphics card when you have the money and you've got a helluva gamer. (I'd recommend the 6950, but the I've seen the 5870 for al little as $160!!!)

I finagled them out of a $10 gift card because something I bought from them went down in price after three weeks.  I wanted the cash, knowing full well they would offer a gift card which I would gladly accept of course...hehehe.  Plus, I used one of their email list 10% coupons ($8.00 for me) on all desktop memory.

After a couple of months of waiting and planning and even scheming, I got the price down to what I was willing to pay for some pretty decent ddr2.
