Battlefield 3 Release Date:

Battlefield 3 has been rumored to be in production since late 2007, when a PDF was leaked online. It is now suggested that this PDF was actually discussing the Battlefield: Heroes game (since released.) However, the game has been in development or at least confirmed since summer 2009 when EA's COO stated that "Battlefield is looking good." However, it wasn't until July 30th 2010 that the world really ended up hearing about Battlefield 3. On this date, EA announced that purchasers of the Medal of Honor: Limited Edition game would get an invite to the Battlefield 3 beta within 12 months of Medal of Honor's release (October 12, 2010.) This date has come and passed, while no Battlefield 3 news has come yet, expect it soon. However, our timeline and estimates suggest the following:

Trailer ~ Winter 2011
Beta ~ Summer 2011
Demo/release ~ Fall 2011

Awesome! If it had leaning or a cover system I'd be in love. But this still sounds like it will be amazing. Will there be madding capabilities? I would love to see a tactical mod with leaning based on BF3. At least prone is back!

It does look pretty great I have to say, though I am not a big fan of the battlefield series personally.  I suppose moving away from XP was bound to happen sooner or later.  I am glad it's been happening later lol. I wonder if they will make a PR for BF3 as well lol.

EA already announced they wouldn't have any modding tools and aren't planning on making BF3 Moddable.

NO MODDING!?! That breaks my heart. I might buy it when it's 10-20 dollars. =P But maybe you are right Klose, perhaps the Vanilla will be great. I doubt it though, with the way FPS games have been heading.

Battlefield 3 looks cool, but red orchestra 2 looks like beef cake.  Of course, they are totally different lol, so one could argue that you shouldn't and couldn't make a comparison.

If it's anything like BC2, which it probably will be. I won't be buying it. TBH I think it will be another COD clone. All I see from the trailer is some fancy graphics.

But hey, hopefully I'm wrong. Maybe it will win game of the year award, it will be almost as good as black ops.

Yeah RO2 looks boss. Can't really compare them since neither of them are out. But my money is on RO2

I think RO2 is going to come out sooner, but who can tell with the way the gaming industry release dates.  Come to think of it, I am going to have to upgrade to Windows 7 when these games start coming out in earnest.
