For gaming? Graphic work? The uses are critical to getting the right monitor. If gaming is your main concern then look for a monitor with a fast refresh and low input lag (you'll have to look at proper reviews, never trust the specs). You can get a good gaming LCD these days for around $150. If you want something with color accuracy though you are looking more at $400 min, up to $1000 min for great accuracy. I've seen a great ASUS 3D IPS monitor for $250, and likewise 120hz LCDs for around the same. Monitors are cheapo these days, but there are a lot of lemons and bap products. Shop smart. =)
