What are your guys's hidden gems?
« on: April 30, 2013, 11:57:25 am »
There are a lot of shows and movies out there that no one really hears too much about but once you tell a friend about it, they're hooked.

What are your guys's hidden movie/tv gems?

Mine would likely be the movie Brazil. So insane and creepy but very underrated IMO.

As for shows I'd have to go with Firefly of course. It can be considered well known but at the same time there's a surprisingly low number of people I find who have watched it.
Multiplayer games I'm currently playing. Feel free to join!

Insurgency
Neverwinter

Saw a movie on Netflix right when the streaming thing first started, probably still one of my favorite comedies, How to be a Serial Killer. Really really dark humor but actually very informational on the psychology of killers. Stars a Serial Killer taking on a sad clerk as an apprentice of sorts.

For shows, I'd sa Farscape. Farscape was a mind piff every single episode. EVERY SINGLE DAY these people have to break and bend and re-break to laws of physics to fix their situation; had a lot of really funny social commentary if you really watched it too.

and its not hidden, but its a gem, The motherpiffing Man Show.

I guess by Hidden gems I mostly am talking about shows/movies that are either underrated or are not well known.

Oh god postal. For an Uwe Boll film I actually enjoyed it.
Best scene in the film was the job interview.
"How would you move a mountain...with only a spoon?
If you were in a box, how would you think outside it?
What's the difference between a duck?"

As for me, the hidden gems would be Stalingrad (1993) It was like watching Red Orchestra live action feature film.
Cloud atlas is rather unknown too, I really enjoyed it. Was mind bending, and a mindpiff to boot.
Absolute best film ever made, which only a fraction of people have heard of, is Turkish Star wars.
Awful Movies: Turkish Star Wars Part 2
What is madness but the nobility of soul at odds with circumstances?

Ah its too bad the movie ending didn't include the song that cam after the one playing.
postal theme - soundtrack by Robert Bartha

And the whole movie is pretty much a big go muck yourself to all America. But I as with most 'muricans couldn't care less about stuff like that and find it hilarious.

Didn't enjoy the movie quite as much as I did the games. Postal 2 is still one of my all time favs.
